I love this couple!

This couple came from France, you can see their happiness from the photo. They are nearly 70 years old, arrived Tibet which is called the roof of the world. The old man has a very good character. He sang songs when they met our Lhasa guys on the first day when they had dinner together, he sang very well with much enthusiasm, in the end many ladies went to kiss him.

There were 9 people in this tour group, all of them were seniors. This tour lasted 32 days. They crossed 3 provinces in China and most of the time they were travelling at high altitude (over 4000-5000meters) by car. This picture was taken at the Potala entrance on August 12th. August is the peak season in Tibet, thousands of travellers pour into Tibet at that time. There are only 2000 tickets released to travellers daily. Travel agencies should book tickets for their groups at least 10 days in advance. Even so, sometimes agencies might not get tickets. This French group told us they were determined to go to Potala just one day before. In order to meet their wishes we tried our best and finally all of them were able to visit Potala, but they had to wait at this entrance for more than 3 hours. The strong sunlight in Tibet is well known. Even though we bought them umbrellas, I do not know whether they got sunburned. But I know our manager, who accompanied them, got sunburned and peeled. Under such conditions, they were still singing and smiling. They were very joyful.

Their patience, kindness, understanding and the way of enjoying life gave us a deep impression. Every time when we see this picture and their smiles, we’d like to wish them all the best.
